Holiday Boat Charters in the Virgin Islands

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's on a private charter in the USVI and BVI.

Trade the crowded holiday table for turquoise water, a top-shelf open bar and a day that belongs only to your group. Vibin’ VI Boat Charters runs private holiday charters from Compass Point Marina on St. Thomas and the Cruz Bay National Park Dock on St. John. Enjoy a  custom trip circumnavigating St. John and the surrounding smaller islands in the USVI or island hopping the British Virgin Islands to iconic stops like Jost Van Dyke, Norman Island, Peter Island, Virgin Gorda and more. Choose from two vessels, the 42ft Aquila power catamaran, Vibin’ or the 42ft Renaissance Prowler powerboat, Makaira.

Holiday dates are our busiest of the year and fill weeks in advance.  Check our live calendar for availability to secure your holiday charter.

Why Spend the Holidays on a Private Boat Charter?

The holidays are peak season in the Virgin Islands. Beaches, ferries and group tours are at the busiest. A private charter skips the crowds and puts your family or friends on your own boat with your own captain, on your own schedule.

  • Just your group. No strangers, no fixed itinerary. Up to 12 guests aboard each vessel. Have a group larger than 12? Book both boats together to run a tandem charter!
  • Everything taken care of. Captain and crew, snorkel gear, floats, fresh fruit and baked goods, afternoon hors d’oeuvres, a top-shelf open bar, local craft beers and seltzers.
  • Comfortable for every generation. Vibin’ even has an air-conditioned interior with 2 full sized private bathrooms making it easy for grandparents, kids and babies. Pack-n-play and travel bassinet are on board as well.
  • Perfect December weather. Expect air temperatures around the mid 80s °F with a light breeze and warm water for snorkeling.
  • Skip the customs line. Vibin’ VI Boat Charters has a U.S. Customs bond that lets guests coming back from the BVI clear customs digitally, so you skip in-person processing in Cruz Bay and spend more time having fun in the sun.
  • A family memory, not another dinner. Gifts get forgotten. A day snorkeling with sea turtles, sting rays and colorful reef fish together doesn’t.

Thanksgiving Boat Charters in the USVI

Thanksgiving week ([Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 26, 2026]) is the start of the Virgin Islands high season. Spend the holiday weekend snorkeling Christmas Cove, Trunk Bay, Maho Bay, hopping beach bars in St. John or heading to Jost Van Dyke for a Painkiller at the Soggy Dollar. A full day charter makes for a relaxed morning on the water easy to pair with a Thanksgiving dinner ashore that evening.

Christmas Boat Charters in St. Thomas & St. John

Christmas week is our busiest time of year, so book early. Families come to the islands to spend the holidays together, and a private charter is the easiest way to get everyone, from toddlers to grandparents, out on the water for the day. Celebrate with a Christmas Eve sunset cruise, a family snorkel day in the days between Christmas and New Year’s, or a full BVI day trip.

New Year's Eve & New Year's Day Charters

Ring in the new year on the water. New Year’s in the Virgin Islands is famous, especially on Jost Van Dyke, where Foxy’s Old Year’s Night is one of the Caribbean’s best-known New Year’s Eve parties. Spend the last days of the year island hopping, or start the new year with a recovery day of snorkeling, swimming and sunshine.

Best Holiday Destinations by Boat

Christmas Cove, St. Thomas

It’s hard to beat a holiday trip to a place called Christmas Cove. This sheltered anchorage off Great St. James Island has calm, clear water and good snorkeling with sea turtles and reef fish, which makes it a favorite for families. There is even a sunken ship to explore!

Jost Van Dyke, BVI

Our most popular destination, all year round. Swim ashore to White Bay and the Soggy Dollar Bar, home of the Painkiller, visit Foxy’s in Great Harbour, and float in the Bubbly Pools. With our U.S. Customs bond you clear customs digitally on the way home.
